West Indies Historic Victory against Australia
West Indies achieved a historic victory after 27 years by defeating Australia in a Test match at their home.
West Indies defeated
Australia by 8 runs on the fourth day in the match played at the Gabba Stadium.West
Indies scored 311 runs in the first innings while Australia declared their
first innings 289 runs for 9 wickets and thus the visiting team got a lead of
22 runs in the first innings.
In the second innings, West
Indies were all out for 193 runs and set the host team a target of 216 runs to
win.
West Indies dismissed Australia for 207 runs and won the match by 8 runs.On behalf of the visiting team, Shamar Joseph, with an injured thumb, scored 68 runs in the second innings, dismissing 7 players.
It should be noted that the two-match Test series was tied 1-1, now the 3-match ODI series will start from February 2 in Melbourne.
